Canada Immigration - Skilled Worker Program

The application deadline for the program of Skilled workers and professionals has been reached. Applicants who have an offer for arranged employment or who are pursuing or have earned a doctorate in Canada may apply.The skilled worker applications are assessed on a total of six factors.     * Have completed a PhD in Canada, or have completed two years of study toward a doctorate in Canada, in both cases in a recognized institutionIn addition, applicants for the Skilled Worker (Professional) must have obtained at least 67 points under the selection criteria by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), and have at least one year of continuous full-time experience or equivalent paid as skilled workers in the last 10 years.The selection criteria are:

    * Education: A maximum of 25 points can be allocated to applicants.
    * Language skills: A maximum of 24 points can be allocated to applicants.
    * Professional Experience: Applicants will be granted a maximum of 21 points for any paid work experience skilled, acquired in the last ten years. For this category, you must obtain a minimum of 15 points.
    * Age: Maximum of 10 points can be allocated to applicants.
    * Arranged Employment: A maximum of 10 points can be allocated to applicants.
    * Adaptability: A maximum of 10 points can be allocated to applicants.Whatever the number of points awarded, officials from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) still have the power to accept or refuse an application pursuant to a provision allowing the approval of an alternative assessment.In addition to obtaining a minimum of 67 points and have experience in one of 38 skilled occupations, applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient funds to meet their needs and those of people their dependents after arrival in Canada.
